Rules of tournament play at the club are as follows:

  1. Pairings are provisional only up until two hours before the commencement of play. Note that a player who is nominally shown as having a bye in a provisional pairing may still end up playing if the pairing needs to be re-created due to the unavailability of another player or players (see paragraph 3. below).
  2. If a member is unable to play in a round for any reason, they must notify the Webmaster to that effect as soon as possible, and no less than two hours before the commencement of play.
  3. Anyone who is scheduled to play in a round and who advises that they are unavailable at least two hours before the commencement of play is marked as unavailable for that round. They receive a zero point bye, and the pairing for that round is deleted and re-created.
  4. Anyone who fails to turn up for a round in which they are scheduled to play, and who does not notify the Webmaster at least two hours before the commencement of play, forfeits the game in question. They may also, at the discretion of the DOP, be marked as withdrawn from the remainder of the tournament.
  5. Members are strongly encouraged to enter their results in the computer immediately after they have finished a game, in order to facilitate the timely posting of results to this web site.
